Azure SQL Database Update V12 (preview)

更新日期：2014/12/11

Azure SQL Database V12 (preview) 提供許多功能：

(1) 大型資料庫的管理
例如：parallel queries、table partitioning、online indexing、large index rebuilds with 2GB size limit removed，支援更多的ALTER DATABASE與DBCC 命令等。

(2) 更多的程式功能
例如： CLR integration、T-SQL window functions、XML indexes、change tracking等。

(3) 新增「記憶體中的資料行存放區索引」(In-Memory Columnstore Index)

(4) 支援DMVs (dynamic management views)
用來監視伺服器執行個體的健全狀況、診斷問題和調整效能。

(5) 新增 S3 等級的標準(Standard tier)服務層次

名詞解釋

DTU (資料庫輸送量單位，database throughput units)

DTU 可用來說明 Basic、Standard 和 Premium 資料庫之效能層級的相對容量。
DTU 會以 CPU、記憶體、讀取和寫入的混合測量結果為基礎。當 DTU 增加時，效能層級所提供的處理能力也會隨之提升。

例如，
具有 5 個 DTU 的效能層級，其處理能力是只有 1 個 DTU 的效能層級的五倍以上。
每部伺服器都有其適用的 DTU 配額上限。

注意事項

UEFI 開機 USB 隨身碟，目前，需要格式化為 FAT32 磁區，才能夠視為可啟動的磁區。

名詞解釋

MBR(Master Boot Record)
傳統電腦中的BIOS卻只能定位到2TB左右的容量，超過的空間就無法使用，MBR只能定址約2TB左右的大小（2.2 × 1012位元組）。
而且也只支援最大4個主分割區，也就是如果你有一顆3TB以上的硬碟，無法只分割為一個分割區而能用完全部容量。

UEFI(Unified Extensible Firmware Interface)
是一種個人電腦系統規格，用來定義作業系統與系統韌體之間的軟體介面，作為BIOS的替代方案[1]。
可延伸韌體介面負責加電自檢（POST）、連繫作業系統以及提供連接作業系統與硬體的介面。

UEFI最初是Intel在2000年開發，稱為可延伸韌體介面（Extensible Firmware Interface, EFI）。I
ntel在2005年交由統一可延伸韌體介面論壇（Unified EFI Forum）來推廣與發展，為了凸顯這一點，EFI也更名為UEFI (Unified EFI)。

UEFI論壇的創始者是11家知名電腦公司，包括Intel、IBM等硬體廠商，軟體廠商Microsoft，及BIOS廠商AMI、Insyde及Phoenix。

Fast Boot
結合 UEFI 架構設計出 Fast Boot 快速開機功能，用以縮短電腦開機啟動時間，為使用者帶來更快速的使用體驗。

GPT(GUID Partition Table)
可以支援最大容量到18EB（約為1887萬TB），以及分割區最大可以到128個。

使用「共用資料來源(shared data source)」，以 Reporting Services 2012 為例

「共用資料來源(shared data source)」是一組資料來源連接屬性，可供多個報表、模型以及在 Reporting Services 報表伺服器上執行的資料導向訂閱參考。

「共用資料來源(shared data source)」提供一種簡單的方式，可用以管理通常會隨著時間而變更的資料來源屬性。

如果使用者帳戶或密碼變更，或者如果您將資料庫移到不同的伺服器，可以在一個地方更新連接資訊。

對於報表以及資料驅動訂閱而言，共用資料來源是選擇性的，但是對於報表模型而言，則是必要的。

如果您打算將報表模型用於隨選報表，您必須建立並維護一個「共用資料來源(shared data source)」項目，才能提供連接資訊給模型。
